02/28/2011 Open Mike Monday (OMM)

Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday dear Jeanie
Happy Birthday to you!

And this week's Open Mike Monday question is. . .

Question: What kind of car/truck do you drive?

Cammy2010 Toyota Highlander -- LOVE it!

Jami: My amazing husband just bought me my dream car. . .it's a White 2008 BMW 335i hard top convertible with every option on it. . .I will drive it for the rest of my life and enjoy every minute of it (except paying for premium gas!). I had to wait until the kids were all grown up to get it though because the back seat is really really tiny. My other car is a 2005 Pontiac Vibe...in Orange!

JennyDark Grey Toyota Highlander-2008. I have to elevate the chair in the up AND forward directions so I can see over the steering wheel =) My dream car would be a black convertible Porsche (just my size).

Joy: A Jeep Cherokee, also I have a Dakota Sport Black Truck. I have never driven or had a car, and I probably never will own one either, that's the country girl in me!

Lola: I have a Toyota Camry - just made the last payment in October! And a bright yellow Harley Sportster.

Lesley: I drive a Mazda CX-7, I love it! My previous car was a Mercedes and it had special rims on it and sat very close to the ground, I couldn't see over any car and it made me crazy.

Lori: I drive a Honda Odyssey mini van though now that I'm not driving carpool and loads of kids to soccer and baseball anymore, I'm ready to ditch that for something smaller.  When I don't drive the van I drive our Civic which is just the right size for me.

Melissa: I have a small SUV navy blue with grey interior. Mitsubishi Montero Sport I think. Isn't that nuts I don't really know what kind of car I have. I know we bought it used abou 5 years ago and it is comfy and I feel safe and secure in it. But it needs a bath right now.

MinI have a black Ford Focus that REALLY NEEDS a bath right now!! I drive 100+ miles a day to and from work and it gets AWESOME gas mileage so it's a perfect fit!!!

Paul: I have a burnt Orange Suzuki Swift

Rae Anne: Being both a tree-hugging hippie and a Texas cowgirl is a bit of balancing act, so I drive the greenest SUV that I can - a Honda CR-V. . .;)

Tammy A+: I also have a Ford Focus, dark gray and I love it! Like Min said...awesome gas mileage!

Off you go now to Bugaboo Stamps' challenge blog, Catch the Bug, for the absolutely fabulous projects that Melissa and Tammy A+ have made for ABC Monday.

Green + Sketch Challenge

Despite what Kermit the Frog says, it is easy being green. . . especially at this time of year when we ramp up for all things verdant and Irish. . .;)

So in honor of St. Patrick, four-leaf clovers, and The Lord of the Dance. . .;). . .the challenge this week is to create a project using both the color green (and only green) and the sketch we've provided Catch the Bug, and post a link to it by 03/05/2011 at 7:00 AM EST to be entered in a random drawing for three digital prize packs - seven, four, or two digital images!

Dog-gone It Freebie Friday

Speaking of "Dog-gone It," my fellow DT member Amy ususally joins us on calendar dates ending in a "5," but unfortunately her right elbow and her kitchen floor had a bit of an altercation, and her kitchen floor won. . .;) Amy broke her arm, so if you'd please send some healing mojo her way, we'd all appreciate it!

This week's Freebie Friday image is Bobblehead Critters | Dog-gone It, and you download it for free all week long right here. The rest of the animals in the Bugaboo Stamps pet store are available for purchase here. But before you go shopping, swing by Bugaboo Stamps' challenge blog, Catch the Bug first to see some more canine-cute projects by the DT.

Although we miss Amy, Catherine can MORE than stand her own. . .:D

Note: Every attempt is made to get digi images uploaded to the store by noon EST for Freebie Friday, but please accept our apologies and check back later in the day if they're not there at that time.

    02/21/2010 Open Mike Monday (OMM)

Oh, what a lazy, lazy Monday. . .Don't you just love three-day holiday weekends? God bless George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. . .;)

Question: What do you do with all of the projects that you make?

AmyI always try to keep certain people in mind when I make a card with plans to give them to that person.  I too am guilty or some hoarding.  Some you are just especially proud of and want to save it for the perfect situation.  I have sold some and I pretty much give my Mom any that she wants.  I want the person I give it to be appreciative of it.

CammyUm, stack them up in piles.... yeah, I need a better solution. LOL!

CatherineI send packs of them to friends and family for them to send and of course I send them for birthdays and special occasions...

JackieMost ABCs I won't create without someone in mind, otherwise I know that they sit around until I remember about them. I have set up booths before at craft fairs and been able to sell them. Otherwise I have a tendency to hoard everything I like, which seems to accumulate quickly.

JamiI would donate to Soldiers (they are all near and dear to me!) but I use too many flowers, bulky embellies, and glitter...... so most of mine are found hiding in boxes in my craft room....anyone want some?

JennyI give my cards to family and friends for special occasions. My mother and mother-in-law buy the rest from me. I spend the money on more craft supplies (Copics or Nesties)

JoyI sell them at work and give them away as sets/gifts for birthdays, etc. (But I still have a ton left over, lol!)

LolaI try to send as many out to friends and family as possible.  Some I give away as sets.  I also sell a few here and there.  Then there are the ones I have trouble letting go of!!

Michele: I usually just send cards to my friends, and for Christmas I make little bundles of 10 and use them as a stocking stuffer.

MinI'll hoard a few for special people in our family. But usually I give them away - either to friends & family, donate them to the Veterans Hospital locally, Soldiers Angels or Operation Write HomeSometimes if I hear of people that are going through a rough patch and need the support, I'll send cards to them too. You would be AMAZED at what a can do for the SPIRIT! :)

PeggyI sell them in a little store by my Mom's place or I give them away.

Rae Anne:  I hoard all of the projects that I make using Bugaboo Stamps. . .;)

SandyeI send lots to groups who send to soldiers to use to write home.  Liz gives cards as gifts to many of her friends. I still have soooooo many!!!!!

ScrappyI use the ones I need, hoard a few for later use, and have sold some of them. I donate the majority of them to Operation Write HomeSend a Smile 4 Kids, or take them to a nursing home or the Duke Cancer Center.

StephanieI give a lot away, send out lots and sell some.

Tammy A+I sell a few...give a few to family & friends  but the majority I donate to Operation Write Home.

Off you go now to Bugaboo Stamps' challenge blog, Catch the Bug, for the absolutely fabulous projects that Jackie, Jami, and Scrappy made for ABC Monday.

      Itchy, Scratchy Freebie Friday

Aww, who doesn't love a sweet little puppy in a sweater? Itchy made his debut as one of our blog freebies and as such, the DT  thought that he was just a one-image collection. When Jodie informed us that she actually had more Itchy images we jumped and slobbered all over her like a litter of Lab puppies until she agreed to release them. . .;)

So, this week's Freebie Friday image is Itchy | Bowl. You can download it for free all week long right here. And, the rest of the litter can be purchase here. I don't know how Jodie does it. . .The thought that Dottie doing something crafty barely enters the conscious part of my brain when WHAM! BAM! THANK YOU MA'AM! she's this week's new release. I think that there's some serious kind of voodoo thing going on here, but I'm not going to look at it too closely as long as Jodie (and Skye) keep churning out these absolutely fabulous images!

You can purchase more delightful Dottie digital images right here and you can see some great projects using our popular character below and on Bugaboo Stamps' challenge blog, Catch the Bug. . ..:D

          02/14/2011 Open Mike Monday (OMM)

          Happy St. Valentine's Day!

It's a coincidence that today's St. Valentine's Day given our OMM question below, but it really was prompted by a discussion among the Bugaboo Stamps DT members about famous couples that began weeks ago.

Question: Since everyone seems to have "Gone With the Wind" on the brain, what is the most romantic movie you've even seen and why?

AmyWOW, that's a tough one.... I recently watched "Hitch" with Kevin James and Will Smith, I've seen it before but had forgotten how much I love that movie.  It's a little unexpected and Will Smith is some sweet eye candy...

CammyProbably Love Actually -- I just love all of the side stories. Ghost is a close second -- definitely romantic to the hilt.

CatherineI do love "Gone with the Wind" but the movie that makes me cry every time - even just listening to the music - has to be "Ghost".... Sniff....

JackieI don't know what it is, but I think my favorite is Serendipity! It's the kind of movie I watch over and over again.

JamiOh, there are so many to choose from... but one of my favorites is Meet Joe Black.  I love Brad Pitt's role in this movie - and watching him learn what love is always brings me to tears.  City of Angels with Nicholas Cage is also a fave...for the same reasons.

JennyThe movie Love Actually! Show all the creative ways love can show up in life.

Joyok, let's poke fun at Joy in Bugaboo public for not knowing who Rhett and Scarlette are....wink wink

I'm going to say 50 First Dates- I looooove that Adam Sandler loves Drew Barrymore so much in that movie- he has such patience and loyalty- he makes her fall in love with him every single day.  It's not your typical romantic movie, but that's why I like it so much. But I have to say that my favorite classic romantic scene in a movie is Sixteen Candles- they're sitting on the table with the birthday cake in between and they kiss- how can you beat that!?

LolaSplash.  LOVE it.  Nothing is better than a man who falls in love with a mermaid.

LoriI've never seen Gone with the Wind so I obviously can't say that one. Hmmm...I guess I'm not really into romantic movies.  This is a silly "romantic" movie but I love Princess Bride. More for the comedy than the romance factor but you know, with lines like "this is true love, do you think this happens everyday" it must qualify for romantic on some level...

MelissaThe Thorn Birds with Richard Chamberland. The epic Love story, forbidden love and all that. When they finally come together on that beach. WOW! The scenery was pretty incredible too. I would like to go to Australia some day.  50 First Dates was a really good one too.

Michele: Love Actually- no specific reason for liking it, I just do.

MinMy favorite classis is Cassablanca - what an amazing movie.  More recent movies - Notting Hill with Julia Roberts and The Notebook - what a sweet and WONDERFUL love story.  I could watch them over and over again!
Joy - LOVE Sixteen Candles too!  Wow, that brings back high school memories!  LOL

Rae Anne:  Last of the Mohicans with Daniel Day-Lewis & Madeline Stowe - It's the way Nathaniel looks for Cora in the fort, looks at her across the fire, takes her hand, leads her to a secluded spot, and then kisses her.

SandyeI don't even have to think about this.  My all-time favorite movie is "Gone with the Wind".  I have seen the movie probably 20 times--and have read the book even more!  Ah Rhett Butler--what a man!!!!!

ScrappyJoy, I think 50 First Dates is a FANTASTIC romantic movie! ...and not because I think Adam Sandler is cute - although he IS!

Tammy A+I agree with Catherine...Ghost!!   It gets me everytime!  The pottery wheel scene is the best...I loved Patrick Swayze in this movie!!

Jodie - I am a sucker for romantic movies but i would have to say my favorite has been `notebook``

Lesley has created an absolutely fabulous project for ABC Monday on Bugaboo Stamps' challenge blog, Catch the Bug, to make your St. Valentine's Day just that much sweeter. . .:D
