Happy St. Valentine's Day!
It's a coincidence that today's St. Valentine's Day given our OMM question below, but it really was prompted by a discussion among the Bugaboo Stamps DT members about famous couples that began weeks ago.
Question: Since everyone seems to have "Gone With the Wind" on the brain, what is the most romantic movie you've even seen and why?
Amy: WOW, that's a tough one.... I recently watched "Hitch" with Kevin James and Will Smith, I've seen it before but had forgotten how much I love that movie. It's a little unexpected and Will Smith is some sweet eye candy...
Cammy: Probably Love Actually -- I just love all of the side stories. Ghost is a close second -- definitely romantic to the hilt.
Catherine: I do love "Gone with the Wind" but the movie that makes me cry every time - even just listening to the music - has to be "Ghost".... Sniff....
Jackie: I don't know what it is, but I think my favorite is Serendipity! It's the kind of movie I watch over and over again.
Jami: Oh, there are so many to choose from... but one of my favorites is Meet Joe Black. I love Brad Pitt's role in this movie - and watching him learn what love is always brings me to tears. City of Angels with Nicholas Cage is also a fave...for the same reasons.
Jenny: The movie Love Actually! Show all the creative ways love can show up in life.
Joy: ok, let's poke fun at Joy in Bugaboo public for not knowing who Rhett and Scarlette are....wink wink
I'm going to say 50 First Dates- I looooove that Adam Sandler loves Drew Barrymore so much in that movie- he has such patience and loyalty- he makes her fall in love with him every single day. It's not your typical romantic movie, but that's why I like it so much. But I have to say that my favorite classic romantic scene in a movie is Sixteen Candles- they're sitting on the table with the birthday cake in between and they kiss- how can you beat that!?
Lori: I've never seen Gone with the Wind so I obviously can't say that one. Hmmm...I guess I'm not really into romantic movies. This is a silly "romantic" movie but I love Princess Bride. More for the comedy than the romance factor but you know, with lines like "this is true love, do you think this happens everyday" it must qualify for romantic on some level...
Melissa: The Thorn Birds with Richard Chamberland. The epic Love story, forbidden love and all that. When they finally come together on that beach. WOW! The scenery was pretty incredible too. I would like to go to Australia some day. 50 First Dates was a really good one too.
Michele: Love Actually- no specific reason for liking it, I just do.
Min: My favorite classis is Cassablanca - what an amazing movie. More recent movies - Notting Hill with Julia Roberts and The Notebook - what a sweet and WONDERFUL love story. I could watch them over and over again!
Joy - LOVE Sixteen Candles too! Wow, that brings back high school memories! LOL
Rae Anne: Last of the Mohicans with Daniel Day-Lewis & Madeline Stowe - It's the way Nathaniel looks for Cora in the fort, looks at her across the fire, takes her hand, leads her to a secluded spot, and then kisses her.
Sandye: I don't even have to think about this. My all-time favorite movie is "Gone with the Wind". I have seen the movie probably 20 times--and have read the book even more! Ah Rhett Butler--what a man!!!!!
Scrappy: Joy, I think 50 First Dates is a FANTASTIC romantic movie! ...and not because I think Adam Sandler is cute - although he IS!
Lesley has created an absolutely fabulous project for ABC Monday on Bugaboo Stamps' challenge blog, Catch the Bug, to make your St. Valentine's Day just that much sweeter. . .:D
