10/25/2010 Open Mike Monday (OMM)
Well of course I had to ask the DT an eeky-shrieky question for the Halloween edition of Open Mike Monday. . .;)
Question: What's the scariest movie that you've ever seen?
Jenny: The Blair Witch Project. They say it is based on a true story, but who knows. The way the film was so freaky I turned it off and never finished watching it. I usually like scary movies.
Jodie: Paranormal activity or Texas chainsaw massacre. because they are apparently based on true events
Joy: The Hills have Eyes, I cried in the theater, I hate scary movies!
Lori: The Shining. I saw it at the theater with my parents when it came out in 1980. I was twevle and it completely freaked me out. I have no idea what the plot is, I just know that it was scary. I'm a scary movie whimp though, I dont' seek them out. Even movies that other people don't find scary freak me out. The most recent example is The Sixth Sense...I didn't sleep well for weeks after seeing that... I kept seeing images from that movie everytime I closed my eyes. Probably not a good idea for me to see Psycho or The Exorcist....
Melissa: A million years ago when I was teen I went to a drive in movie in an altered state of mind and the movie playing on the screen behind us was Night Of The Living Dead. Of course we didn't have sound and I just never forgot those images of the walking dead and the eating ohhhhh yuck. Never did see that movie again. I also thought that the Exorcise was pretty scarey.
Rae Anne: Mister Frost or Ghost Story.
Sandye: My choice would have to the original Psycho! I still prefer a bath to a shower because of that shower scene.
Scrappy: Probably either Poltergeist, Pet Cemetary, or The Devil's Advocate. I *still* hold my breath and say a prayer when I pass a cemetary. 9 years of Catholic School made me terrified of crossing the bug guy! (I hate scary stuff...BWAWK BWAWK Chicken. . .and happy to admit it!) omg...the Exorcist?!?! I literally *shivered* just reading that title! EGADS!! Really shouldn't think about that before bed....gulp!
Min (GD for 10/2010): Growing up I remember seeing Poltergeist and having nightmares about the tree that came through the window for ages!! We don't watch scary movies in our house anymore - if we do, we sleep with the lights on FOREVER because I'm a big scare-d-cat.

Just 'Cause Challenge
A great big THANK YOU to our friends in the UK at Creative Craft World for sponsoring Catch the Bug's Just 'Cause challenge this week with a set of five Promakers in Skin Tones!!!
It's been a bit difficult to preface this week's challenge without sounding either preachy or platitudinous, both of which I despise. So, let me just say that we all have something that we'd be willing to go to the proverbial mat for. Can you tell me about it in a card or project? Will you? If so, post a link to it on Bugaboo Stamps' challenge blog, Catch the Bug, by 10/30/2010 at 7:00 AM EST to be entered in a random drawing for three digi prize packs - seven, four, or two digital images - OR a set of five Promakers in Skin Tones!!!
It seems only fitting that we feature Cammy's card today as she's been been busy raising funds this month for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. You've got until Monday, 10/25/2010, to get in on some seriously delicious & nutritious blog candy. All you've got to do to qualify is make a dontation in support of Ainsley and angels like her everywhere.
And, in keeping with National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, how 'bout a project by Jenny that's pretty in pink? ;)

10/18/2010 Open Mike Monday (OMM)
I was in Target this past Friday, and I noticed that they're moving their Halloween items to make way for their Christmas items. Does everybody have their Halloween costumes and candy for trick-or-treaters? I stocked up on three enormous bags of Skittles & Starburst. My niece Jane is a freak for Skittles, so I'm assuming that it's a good choice. I'd hate to be known as the house on the block with the crappy candy. . .;)
Question: What company makes your favorite designer paper? (i.e. Cosmo Cricket, October Afternoon, Basic Grey, etc.)
Cammy: Hmmm. . . a few months ago, I would have said Basic Grey -- I still love them, but I've met a new love. Cosmo Cricket. I was under a rock and didn't buy Garden Variety for months. Now I can't wait to get my hands on their mini decks. A runner-up to them would be the My Mind's Eye Quite Contrary line of papers -- just wish they came in 6x6 sizes.
Jackie RAK: I think these questions are getting harder! Well, I would say it's a toss up between Cosmo Cricket and Basic Grey most of the time for me. But then again those are the ones I use the most often....DCWV have lots of glittery papers which I love, but I can't always use glitter....oh heck, let's be honest here if it's pretty I need it regardless of which company made it! Did I ever mention that I have masses of DP, it could probably cover all the wall in my house and then some :)
Jenny: I'm loving more and more paper lines by the day, I would have to say Basic Grey right now, but I'm really loving Bo Bunny too. Oh man, as I sit here I keep thinking of more. Can we pick more than one? =)
Joy: I love DP period....love it all, hoard it all ;)
Lori: Bo Bunny...especially the polka dots...I can NOT resist buying it everytime I'm at Archivers. I love the colors, the dots, the fact that it's two sided and great quality. Love love LOVE IT!
Melissa: Oh geez Rae this is a hard one. Do we have to pick just one? Think Think Think. I'm going to say Bo Bunny/Basic Grey. And for all the same reasons. Double-sided, great colors and coordinating patterns. You can even mix between the different lines. All the extras that they have, Sticker sheets and Alphas, note cards, 6x6 sheets, rubons, chipboard, buttons, brads, ribbons and yes even stamps. Yummy.
Michele: This is tough... but I like October Afternoon, Basic Grey, K&Co, Cosmo even DCWV... and... I live it all!
Paul: I have a huge pile of Stampin' Up Papers so I guess I'd have to go with them. I like how the colours co-ordinate with their cardstock and it takes out the the thinking. Yep, I'm lazy.
Rae Anne: KI Memories 2004-2006.
Sandye: My favorite is whatever I'm using at the time! I love Basic Grey, October Afternoon, Cosmo Cricket, Bo Bunny, My Mind's Eye, Stampin' Up, Papertrey Polka Dots. I wish Jeanie Witmer were not on hiatus because then I could have answered that I love whatever designer paper she is using--because it is always fantastic!!!!!
Scrappy: I'm with Joy! Love it all, HOARD it all! lol! ;p
Scrappy: I'm with Joy! Love it all, HOARD it all! lol! ;p
Melissa's got a terrific ABC project for your today, so make sure that you drop by our challenge blog, Catch the Bug, to ooh-and-aah. . .;)

Sweetest Day Challenge
After the excitement of last week's blog hop, our latest challenge might seem a bit of a dénouement, but I think that a little sprinkle-coated fun every now and then is good for the soul. . .:D
If you're unfamiliar with Sweetest Day, I'll summarize by saying that's all about sweets for your sweet(heart). And so, the challenge today at Catch the Bug is to create a project using candy, cupcakes, chocolate, love, roses, etc. You know about Christmas in July? Well, think of this as St. Valentine's Day in October. . .;) Here's the challenge 411.

Every single time that I prepare for this post, I think to myself that I cannot possibly be more impressed with what's out on there on the Web than I was the previous week (You know where this is headed, right?) And then, I run into something like this, which is nothing short of absolute perfection.
Min Kwiatkowski, our GD for 10/2010, has a terrific tutorial on how to create designer paper with digital stamps, so why don't you drop by our challenge blog, Catch the Bug, and check it out.

Is it Monday already?!?!? Are you sure??? The Bugaboo Stamps DT is recovering from what was one helluva blog hop this past Saturday on our challenge blog, Catch the Bug. You still have plenty of time to participate - The deets are here, the characters are here, and the magical items are here.
Cammy: No speed dial here either! I just dial.
Jackie RAK: I only have a few speed dials, and #1 is technically my voicemail on my phone...but #2 is my guy :D

Plop-plop-fizz-fizz, oh what a relief it is, indeed.. . .;)
Question: Who's the first person on your speed dial?
Cammy: No speed dial here either! I just dial.
Jackie RAK: I only have a few speed dials, and #1 is technically my voicemail on my phone...but #2 is my guy :D
Jenny: My pool boy. . . .oh I mean my hubby, Matt =)
Joy: Nobody, I hate the phone, everyone knows I hate the phone, don't call me unless it's an emergency. I don't eveh have text!
Lori: My husband, John. Of course it takes me longer to figure out who is what number on speed dial than it would actually take me to jus dial the whole number since I usually just text people, I don't actually CALL them. :D
Melissa: I always have good intentions when I buy a new phone to add everyones number and it is such a pain I just give up. So no one is on mine and I don't have a cell phone either. I am a dinosaur.
Michele: What's speed dial? I don't like talking on the phone. Text me please!
Michele: What's speed dial? I don't like talking on the phone. Text me please!
Rae Anne: My Mexican Southern Belle Mama, Emma.
Sandye: Like Joy, I don't do speed dial. I thought it was my age--but she is young!
Scrappy: I don't do speed dial! I'm seriously Technologically Impaired! However, if you ask me who I call the most, well that would be 'my friend Binny' (who *IS* real, even if most people don't see her! ;)).

Fee-Fi-Fo-Freebie Friday
Being a bit of twit about all things re: popular culture, I actually thought that this was some sort of Woodland Santa Claus that Jodie was releasing for Freebie Friday. Yes, really! Needless to say, it didn't exactly endear me to our resident fanatics Jackie RAK, Joy, and Paul.
If you're one of them (fanatics), you might just want to drop by our challenge blog, Catch the Bug, next to see the giant-sized talent of our DT. . .;)

Fat (New Release) Tuesday
It seems rather "Hooray for me!" to be posting my own project to Jodie's blog, but alas, I was scheduled for today's assignment. Besides, modesty is only for people that don't have anything to be proud of. . .;)
Hey, chubby ghost by a chubby stamper. . .What a coniky-dinky! ;)
Hmmm. . .What do we have here?
Note: Every attempt is made to get digi images uploaded to the store by noon EST for New Release Tuesday, but please accept our apologies and check back later in the day if they're not there at that time.

10/04/2010 Open Mike Monday (OMM)
It's the first Monday in October and Bugaboo Stamps is now on a busy, but thrilling slide down toward the holidays!
Question: Who's your stamping idol?
Audrey: I have 2 - Ann Vento and Jen Del Muro. Just when I think their work couldn't get any more AWESOME, I visit their blogs and am WOWED by their new projects.
Jenny: Are you serious, we only gt to choose one again. Mine changes from time to time depending on what I'm into. I would say right now it would be Suzanne Dean. her coloring skills are amazing!
Joy: Kim Teasdale. I love her coloring, use of DP, her shading, her use of sponging - Everything!
Lori: Jane Chambers - I met her on the CardSwaps board a couple of years ago and besides being about the nicest person you'd ever want to know, her work is absolutely amazing. I am in awe of everything she creates.
Melissa: Scrapperlicious, Irene Tan. I have been following her for about three years now and I just love her. She is fantastic and has been a wonderful influence on me. She was on of the first artists I found when I discovered Blogging. I also enjoy Tim Holtz and Luzma Bruna, Carol Jensen, Gabrielle Pollacco, and the list goes on. I need to update my blog. And then of course there are all of you.
Michele: There are several, but I particularly like the work of Maki Jones. I love her designs, but what I love most is her use of color especially because she uses color combos that I would never even consider using.

Rae Anne: Jen del Muro + Susan Liles (Or as I call them, JENUSAN) are the standards by which all others are judged.
Sandye: I guess my stamping idol is Nichole Heady. She has a very clean and simple style that is right up my alley! I also tink she has a wonderful design team--second only to Bugaboo's! Nichole builds up release day every month--and is quite the businessperson.
It's ABC Monday on our challenge blog, Catch the Bug, so make sure you drop in and see the projects that Audrey & Paul have created for you.
